While Apple’s next generation iPhone aka iPhone 5 is not yet officially announced, growing rumors are indicating a mid-October release. If Apple used a similar trajectory for the White iPhone 5, it would start selling the smartphone Oct. 13 or Oct. 14. Yet one particular rumor — about the next model of Apple’s flagship phone coming to Sprint Nextel Corp. — was received seriously and the carrier’s stock rose more than 10 percent. And that’s not to mention the increased pressure Apple faces from a soaring Android from Google Inc. (GOOG) and a resurgent Windows smart phone effort from Microsoft Corp. It’s a great cell phone that everybody is expecting.
